A Fine Dessert
During today's program we traveled from Lyme, England in 1710 to San Diego, California in 2010 by way of a dessert--blackberry fool! Using the book A Fine Dessert we explored how ingredients, tools and culture has changed over the years. After a thorough examination of the illustrations, we tried our hand at making this dessert.
We gathered the tools and ingredients.
We adjusted the recipe--strawberries instead of blackberries.
We whipped cream and folded in the berries.
We sampled and critiqued the fool.
The general concensus? Could have used more sugar!
