As they announced, the Board has begun to make difficult decisions about cutbacks to deal with the serious budget shortfall for 2010. Starting December 1st, all locations will have hours reduced.

• The Main Library, Outreach Services, and Historical Society will be closed on Fridays.
• The branches (Forest City, Hallstead/Great Bend, and Susquehanna) will close at 5pm instead of 6 on Tuesday and Thursday; will close at 1pm on Friday; and will be closed on Saturdays.

Cutbacks are also affecting the state District Library Centers. Our District Center is eliminating the databases they buy for the district.

• HeritageQuest and Ancestry expired on November 1st; the links are still working but may stop any day now.
• E-audio will expire in March.
• MyLibrary DV downloadable videos have been removed.
• InterLibrary Loan will be limited to holdings in the state catalog.
