Last year the Novel Woman Book Club in Forest City started an annual author luncheon, and this year the Susquehanna County Library Friends followed suit. The Novel Woman Book Club held their Second Annual Local Author's Luncheon on September 23rd at the Stonebridge Inn. The guest was Jill Smolowe, author of An Empty Lap: One Couple's Journey to Parenthood, and the event raised $1653 for the Forest City Library.

The First Annual Local Author's Luncheon in Montrose was held on October 14th at the Inn at Montrose. Karen Blomain, author of A Trick of Light, was the guest, and $1025 was raised for the county library system. Our deepest thanks go to the authors who so generously donated their time and enthusiasm, the organizers, the donors of the many baskets which were raffled at both events, the staff of the facilities, and everyone who attended.
