New Library Fundraising Campaign

The planning process for a new library headquarters has taken more than a decade. Our fundraising campaign, with a target of 4 million dollars, is underway. The site on High School Road (marked by a sign) is a 3-acrre parcel donated by the Montrose Area School District. Architect Tom Horlacher has drawn up plans for a building designed to serve the next century of Susquehanna County life-long learners. The Historical Society will be able to expand into the entire 1907 building on Monument Square, which will become a fine museum to attract visitors and residents. Kim Harwood, chair of the New Library Development Committee, says that over $900,000 has already been pledged or donated. All donations count to leverage future public and private foundation grants. Please help us reach our goal!
