September 12- The Glorious Flight

A very large group of homeschoolers gathered in the Montrose Bible Conference gym. We began our program with a reading of "The Glorious Flight" by Alice and Martin Provensen. Steven Bard, who has been building planes for over fifty years, graciously shared his expertise.  He wowed us with a soaring demonstration of his four handmade gliders. Other activities included buildling a hoopster, assembling foam WWII gliders, and test flying a variety of paper airplanes.

Participants tested ten different airplane designs and documented their performance. The winning plane that was rated most fun to fly was the Cobra.
