| What are memorials? |
|
Memorial donations are a wonderful way to remember a deceased friend or family member. You can also honor someone during their lifetime. Memorial/honor donations can be directed to the purchase of books or other items, or to capital projects. To process a memorial or honor donation, we need the donor's name, address, and phone number; the name of the person being memorialized or honored; and the name and address of a contact person (such as a family member) to be notified. For a book, we need to know how much you'd like to spend (hardcovers start at around $25, but any amount is accepted). You may specify a subject area if you'd like, or let us choose a nice book of lasting value on a topic needed by the library. You may pay right away or ask to be billed. When a memorial is requested, we immediately notify the family member with a note. Once the book is ordered and processed (please allow at least 8-12 weeks), we send another note to the family member and to the donor. A memorial plate is placed in the book identifying the person memorialized and the donor. |
