| How do I search for items? |
|
We are part of the Evergreen project, a joint library catalog that will include more and more libraries across Pennsylvania. This means that the online catalog, linked at the top left of any library webpage, includes many items not in Susquehanna County. The first time you visit evergreen.palibrary.org, type "Susquehanna" in the box labeled "Type Library Name" and choose Susquehanna County Free Library. Basic search: simply click in the search box and type what you're looking for. "All fields" will be searched. You can also use the drop-down menu to specify title, author, or subject. Press the enter key or click Find. Advanced search (to the right of the Find button): Fill in multiple fields you want and click the Find button. You can limit your search to a particular format or genre, a publication date range, etc. Results list: Some information displays below the title, like the call number and format. Be aware that "Not Available" simply means "Not now"--you can request any item you see. Click on a title to view full details. Item detail: All the locations will display below the information about the item. You will be able to place holds on items here, but as of 2/24/2012 this is not working correctly--please call or visit your local library to request an item. You'll see related items on the right sidebar. To navigate: Above the title you will see "Prev" and "Next" links. Click "Search" in the gray bar to return to the results list, or type a new search in the green search bar at the top of the screen. |
