How to help

Bring your old inkjet printer cartridges and cell phones to your local library! We'll recycle them for you and get cash for any that have value. We have a new recycling vendor and received $167 for two boxes worth, so it can really add up. Each library has a box where you can deposit your items (please tie cartridges in a plastic bag). You can include cell phone chargers, but they are not required. Sorry, we can't take laser (toner) cartridges or other electronics besides cell phones. Thanks for your help! |

We have begun a Courtesy Notice feature, where you'll be alerted if you have library items coming due within 3 days. In order to receive these notifications, you need to register your email address online. This also allows us to save postage and time by sending out hold alerts and overdue notices electronically. Click here register your email address. Thank you!
Please note that InterLibrary Loans are not included in the alerts, because they do not belong to the county library system. |

As part of the kiosk computers made possible by an LSTA grant, residents of Apolacon, Ararat, Auburn, Choconut, Friendsville, Gibson, Harford, Hop Bottom, Lathrop, Lenox, Little Meadows, Middletown, Rush, Silver Lake, and Springville are entitled to receive a free USB flash drive while supplies last. These 512MB USB storage drives are incredibly convenient for saving digital files of any kind, including documents and photos. They are imprinted with the library logo and pre-loaded with information about library programs and services. You must have a library card and be a resident of one of the boroughs or townships listed above to receive a voucher; bring the voucher to one of the kiosk computer locations to get your flash drive. If you don't have a card, you can apply online here; if you do have a card, you can stop by a library and ask for a voucher, or you can request one here. |

If you are a resident of Susquehanna County, you can now apply for a library card online by clicking here. Non-residents may be eligible for a card (see our eligibility list) but must visit a library in person. If you apply online, you'll receive a card in the mail which you can use to access all our online resources (listed on the left of every page). To borrow books or DVDs, or to use the computers at the library locations (Forest City, Hallstead-Great Bend, Montrose, Susquehanna), you will need to activate your card by bringing it to a library location, along with photo ID, and filling out a paper registration form.
When you apply online, you'll be notified if you're eligible to get a voucher for a free flash drive. |
