The setting for the first program of new school year was the Montrose Theater. While there, we read the picture book biography Mack Made Movies, were treated to a behind the scenes tour of the theater, and created toys that explored the idea of visual persistence, the phenomenon that makes movies possible. For a virtual tour of the Montrose Theater click here. Be sure to check out the projection room! The directions to make a zoetrope or movie wheel can be found by clicking here. For another version that can be printed out and assembled, click here. Instructions for a thaumatrope are available here.
