The library has responded to the growing homeschooling population by offering benefits to families who are residents of Susquehanna County and registered in the Homeschool program. With a Homeschool library card, participants receive an extended check out period and a newsletter twice during the school year. Registered families are also eligible to participate in the Homeschool programs held monthly during the school year. With notice, the outreach department will gather a collection of books according to a specific request, or conduct a tour of the library and its resources.

PROGRAMS

Monthly programs, geared for elementary-aged learners, begin with a book and expand with activities. Topics crisscross the curriculum but always include fun. Click here for the current program and a list of upcoming programs. You'll find archived past programs (with pictures, overview, and handouts) here.

HOMESCHOOL BULLETIN BOARD

Look here to buy or swap instructional materials, join a group, attend a class, or find other information to assist you in homeschooling. If you have information that you would like posted, please submit it using the e-mail link for the bulletin board at the bottom of this page. Click here for current listings.

RESOURCES

The Homeschool Resource Center, located downstairs in the Main library in Montrose, contains a collection of homeschooling materials available to borrow. There is a bulletin board based on the theme of the month, as well as a collection of books related to that month's program. There is also a swap shelf for families to share instructional materials. Click here for new additions to the collection, book reviews, etc.
