April 19--Mama Miti | Print |  E-mail
In celebration of Arbor Day (always the last Friday in April, here in Pennsylvania) this month's program will focus on trees. We'll begin by reading Mama Miti, the story of Wangari Maathai, the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize recipient who worked to restore the forests in her native Kenya. Other activities are planned to learn about trees closer to home. Weather permitting, we may even get to explore the trees around the library.
