The Outreach Services department offers Books-by-Mail and Deposit Stations around the county to extend library services beyond the branches in Forest City, Hallstead-Great Bend, Montrose, and Susquehanna.

Are special services offered to teachers? | Print |  E-mail

Teachers receive an extended borrowing period on classroom materials (6 weeks, except for videos and DVDs). Books-on-Wheels is a program which delivers boxes of books directly to classrooms on a monthly basis during the school year. Teachers can request specific topics or supplemental reading. Please contact Outreach Services for more information.

Classes and other groups can also be given tours of the library by arrangement.

Yes! Homeschooling families can register with Outreach Services to receive special services, which include extended borrowing privileges (4 weeks) on all items except videos and DVDs, selection of items on curriculum topics, and monthly programs during the school year. What are deposit stations and where are they located? | Print |  E-mail

Outeach Services provides Deposit Stations across the county as a way of extending library services beyond the main library and branches. Check out a video! Some Deposit Stations are located in public buildings such as post offices or stores; others are in limited-access locations (senior centers and personal care homes). Deposit Stations house a rotating collection of books and cassette books (new items are brought every 6 to 8 weeks). Directions on borrowing items are posted at each Deposit Station.

Here are the current locations of Deposit Stations in Susquehanna County:

  • Harford - in Harford Village Apartments (School St.), but open to the public on occasion
  • Jackson - Post Office (off Rt. 92)
  • Lenox - Lenox Pharmacy (Rt. 106 & Rt. 92)
  • Rush - Dandy Mart convenience store (Rt. 267)
  • South Gibson - Post Office (Rt. 92)
  • Springville - Checkered Express convenience store (Rt. 29)
  • Starrucca - US Post Office (Starrucca Creek Rd.)
  • Thompson - US Post Office (Rt. 171)
Other locations
  • Blue Ridge Senior Center (Franklin St, Great Bend)
  • Country Living Personal Care Home (off Rt. 29, Montrose)
  • Forest City Personal Care Home (911 Delaware St., Forest City)
  • Kime Apartments (Rt. 11, Great Bend)
  • Meadow View Senior Living Center (Park St., Montrose)
  • Montrose Square Apartments (Church St., Montrose)
  • Turnpike Terrace Apartments (Turnpike St., Susquehanna)

Please do not return items checked out from the main library or branches to deposit stations.
